Ethan Henry was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1992. He grew up in Cardiff studying Psychology before moving to London and starting his filmmaking portfolio.

In 2018, the first-time-writer-director began working on a short horror film with writer Julio Weigend. Ethan edited the original script Written by Julio titled 'After Mom's Funeral' into what is now known as his first short film: Welcome Home. The film casts first time actor David Slocombe and first time actress Sandra Henry. The film itself took inspiration from a number of horror films, namely; The Shining (1980), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Halloween (1978), and Hereditary (2018). Ethan also found inspiration in the works of James Wan, in particular The Conjuring (2013), and Insidious (2010). During the filmmaking process Ethan was solely responsible for directing, editing, and producing the film. He also took the role of cinematographer and sound engineer on the project. 

 

Ethan is a fan of gritty realism in the form of horror, crime, or drama and is inspired by other directors such as Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape of Water,  The Devil's Backbone), Quentin Tarantino (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction), Darren Aronofsky (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan), David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club), and Stanley Kubrick (The Shining, Full Metal Jacket).
